A Buzzing New Beginning in Cypress County

Every now and then, a story comes along that reminds us why we do what we do. This week, Sheldon and I had the joy of selling our very first beehive to a remarkable mother-son duo, Denise and Myles, who live just off the Black and White Trail in beautiful Cypress County.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the kind of warmth that fills your heart and lingers long after you leave. To our surprise, Sheldon recognized Myles from the local BMGO pool — a touching moment that reminded us just how closely knit and supportive our community really is.

What struck us most was the genuine love and care Denise and Myles brought to this new adventure. Their excitement was palpable, and their dedication was inspiring. Both had carefully read Beekeeping for Dummies from cover to cover, and it showed. Sheldon was blown away by the knowledge they had gained and the thoughtful attention they had given to preparing their space for the bees.

Denise’s devotion as a mother was evident in every detail. She wasn’t just supporting Myles’ interest — she was right there beside him, learning, planning, and sharing in the experience. Watching Myles step into his new role as a beekeeper, with his mom encouraging him every step of the way, was nothing short of heartwarming.

Their enthusiasm was contagious. As we pulled out of their yard, we couldn’t stop smiling. What we witnessed that day wasn’t just the start of a beekeeping journey — it was a celebration of community, learning, and the healing bond between people and the natural world.

Thank you, Denise and Myles, for letting us be part of your bee story. We can’t wait to see how your hive grows and the joy it brings to your lives — and maybe even the lives of your neighbors.
